1. Essential oils
Most essential oils are known to act as powerful flea- and pest-repelling agents. Such essential oils may include citronella, eucalyptus, peppermint, tea tree, and rosemary. You can use these oils by diluting them in a carrier oil and spraying them on your pet’s coat or household furniture. Using essential oils directly on your pet’s coat without diluting it can irritate their skin and cause rashes. 2. Apple cider vinegar and salt
Apple cider vinegar is helpful mainly in getting rid of pests and balancing the pH levels of their coat. Lower levels of pH prevent these pests from surviving in your pet’s fur and from growing and multiplying. Applying a mixture of apple cider vinegar and sea salt to your pets’ fur can help get rid of fleas and ticks and help prevent any such pests from attacking them.

3. Lemon baths
Lemon baths working on the same principle as apple cider vinegar. The pH of lemon water is quite low, proving to be an inhabitable environment for ticks and fleas to grow in. Giving regular lemon baths to your pets can help protect them from a pest attack, especially if they spend a lot of their time in the park or outdoors playing with other pets. You can easily make a nice and safe lemon bath for your pet by squeezing a lemon in the bathwater and adding your regular pet shampoo or soap.

4. Organic soaps
Organic soap is an excellent method of getting rid of pests from your dog’s fur. You can use either organic peppermint soap or organic rose soap, as both these ingredients have flea-repellent properties. It also helps them smell great on every bath day.

5. Flea collars
Flea collars are an excellent way of preventing your pets from catching fleas or ticks on their daily walks in the park. These collars are typically infused with lavender oil or cedar oil that repel any ticks or fleas from attacking your pets. You can make your own flea collars by applying some diluted lavender or cedar oil to a simple collar. It has also been observed that unflavored vodka acts as a great flea-repellent and can be used on collars just like lavender oil.
